If you're planning to run a marathon or shorter distance running event overseas, we bet there are a lot of things on your mind. Well done for taking five minutes out of your training routine to think about travel insurance. We'll make this as quick and easy as possible, so you can go back to the important stuff.

We've put together some points to note in respect of our cover for running events. As with any marathon, there's no shortcut when it comes to understanding your travel insurance - please make sure you read the PDS for full details.
What we cover as standard:
Running (half marathon distance or less) as an amateur
Necessary Overseas Medical Expenses and Repatriation costs if you injure yourself while running the half marathon
Cancellation costs if you can’t travel due to certain reasons (e.g. serious injury or illness)
Curtailment costs (when approved by our assistance company) if you need to fly home early due to certain reasons
What We Cover With Our Sports/Adventure and Work Activities Pack A:
Marathon running (or shorter distance) as an amateur
Necessary Overseas Medical Expenses and Repatriation costs if you injure yourself while running the marathon
Cancellation costs if you can’t travel due to certain reasons (e.g. serious injury or illness)
Curtailment costs (when approved by our assistance company) if you need to fly home early due to certain reasons

Triathlon (not ultra-distance) as an amateur
Necessary Overseas Medical Expenses and Repatriation costs if you injure yourself while running the half marathon
Cancellation costs if you can’t travel due to certain reasons (e.g. serious injury or illness)
Curtailment costs (when approved by our assistance company) if you need to fly home early due to certain reasons
What we don't cover:
Marathon running (or shorter distance) as a professional
Cancellation and Curtailment if you can still travel, but can’t run the marathon (i.e. if you could still go as a spectator)
